The MOROCCAN simmer sauce and the KORMA simmer sauce are my two favorite!! It's soo easy to create an amazing dinner meal quickly! Slice chicken into thin strips and cook in a wok for a few minutes. Then add fresh vegetables or use Trader Joe's frozen mixed vegetables and/or pre-cut peppers. Finally add the simmer sauce of your choice! Serve on a bed of rice! It's fantastic!
One suggestion: When I use the KORMA sauce, I add coconut milk and a generous dallup of curry paste to reeeally spice it up! Makes me sweat just thinking about it! OH! And don't forget to serve some Trader Joe's NAAN with it! Yummy!

Re: TJ's "SIMMER SAUCES"
Mon, January 30, 2006 - 11:33 AMI did try and enjoy the Marsala sauce with chicken. Very mild and slightly sweet. But I miss the Peanut sauce. I have a low tolerance for spiciness - even the yellow curry made me pause, but it was good to zip up some leftovers.

Sat, February 11, 2006 - 7:21 PMI LOVE the Moroccan one! I've had it with swordfish steaks (TJ's of course) The Pepitas one is good, too. I haven't tried the Korma one, yet. I'll look for it!
I'm new, btw and LOVE TJ's! I even worked at one for 3 months while between jobs. Love it even more! -

Thu, February 16, 2006 - 11:18 AMWow, I didn't know the others were so good. My favorite is the Masala sauce which is spicy but slightly sweet. I also use the Spinach Punjab. I have the Moroccan one in my pantry and I think I'm going to use it tonight. -

Re: TJ's "SIMMER SAUCES"
Fri, February 17, 2006 - 12:40 PMYou'll like it. It's got cinnamon and other spicy goodness! I may make some tonight, too. Maybe with pork. I have some chops in the fridge that need cooking and I'm not in the mood for chops. Maybe I'll slice them and simmer them.

Re: TJ's "SIMMER SAUCES"
Fri, February 17, 2006 - 6:31 PMHEY EVERYONE!!!!! we have a new sweet roasted Mole sauce in the fresh section (least, we have in here on the east coast). it sREALLY good, with hints of chocolate, cinimon, and a bit of a sizzle right in the front of the mouth. its good with chicken, and while its not specifically a simmer sauce, im sure u could use it like one. lol, also, ive put a little over creamed tuna on rice, and that works. dont ask me why, but it does. anyways, look for it in the fresh section, check it out, take some home, enjoy, and lemme know what u think! TTFN! -

Re: TJ's "SIMMER SAUCES"
Fri, February 24, 2006 - 8:50 AMPicatta sauce was *awesome* with Salmon fillets last night. Brown rice on the side, soaked it up nicely, and a bag of 'hodgepodge' frozen veggies for color.
For dessert, two (cordial) glasses of sweet raspberry wine. yummmm
Planning a breakfast this weekend featuring some fried polenta - been dying to try that - and some hearty sausages. -

Fri, February 24, 2006 - 9:48 PMlol, the polentas not bad, but it def needs a sauce or somethin to add some flavor. lol, it reminds me of scrapple, cause it has a similar texture, and u cook it the same. lol, scrapple's much better tho..........mmmmmm....wish we had some.......lol, and yes, i know its all the leftover parts and LOTS of spices, but still, i LOVE scrapple........lol, anyways, let us know how the polenta works out! -

Re: TJ's "SIMMER SAUCES"
Wed, March 1, 2006 - 8:24 PMWow, I finally saw all these sauces. Is the Korma sauce is that spicy or sweet?
Thanks for the posting btw.
I wished I could spagetti sauce that isn't so sweet but I guess it's naturally from the tomatoes. Does anyone know how to make it less sweet? Thanks! -

Re: TJ's "SIMMER SAUCES"
Thu, March 2, 2006 - 10:11 AMThe Korma sauce is spicy,...though not spicy enough for my tastes. I like to have tears streaming down my face when I eat spicy foods! -

Re: TJ's "SIMMER SAUCES"
Thu, March 2, 2006 - 10:32 AMlol, ya he does! and he's not the kind that loves really spciy foods and enjoys it, he's the kind that loves REALLY spciy foods but complains about it the whole time!!! lol, he's like "OH MY GOD MY MOUTH IS ON FIRE!!!" so i say "well, then dont put as much hot sauce on"........but he does anyways, and responds with "...but i like it......"
lol, oh well. personally, i dont really like that much spicyness. havent tried the Korma yet, but if Lucian says its not spicy enough, it should be good for me. ill get some @ work today. -

Re: TJ's "SIMMER SAUCES"
Thu, March 2, 2006 - 7:01 PMdivine.. it's spicy.. I gotta go check that out... so you put chicken strips.. do you use bread or something to dip it? I'm a spicy kinda person, it's the Thai in me. I have to add ground up Thai red chili peppers even in my tomato sauce w/ pasta. -
