seems there's a never ending flow of folks going in and out of the place.

you would think they might expand the hours or the store. i have been too a few and they all are small and have the same hours. (not the same foods tho ! )

with that said so how far do you/would you walk to a tj for your shopping needs ?

myself i have been walking 1 mile one way , for 4 yrs, to my local tj's and filling up my needs for a week or so and getting a workout at the same time. (i try never to put down the 2 full bags on the walk home)

am i the only one???.....hope not and if so hope to start a trend....... lol

    Hey Kaya,
I work at the South Pas store and sadly, I doubt any of the stores will every change their hours or expand. Early in the morning when we open, things are way busy, but usually between 10 and 2 on the weekdays, things arent so bad. Also, we get crazy rushes in the evening, but try around 8, but before 8:30, for a smaller crowd. Maybe that helps? Also, we pull about 5 trucks in every night along with a handful of them each morning...

To answer the QUESTION, I currently walk 4 blocks or so to shop/work. When I lived in SF, I would ride the bus or my bike totally out of the way (20min+ ride) to reach the TJ's, even though I worked at a health food store! Yay for walkers and bikers!

Also, regarding those other posts about unfriendly TJ's workers, I hope Im not one of those! (and if I have been, sorry...I was probably having a bad moment...)

Well in my area, it is better to go during the time when most people are working during the weekdays. For example, I frequent the one in Orland Park, IL. The best time to go during the weekday is on Mondays thru Wednesdays, before the evening rush hours. On weekends, it's better to go either very early or very late, like an hour or two before closing. But oddly enough I live in Chicago and I refuse to shop and take public transportation. But my resolve is weakening. I might take the train and go to the one that is a few minutes by train.
