If you enjoy meat that's organic and raised without pesticides, and hormones and fed vegetarian feed only, I noticed my local TJ's has started selling one pound squares of organic ground beef at $4.99 a pound,. They also sell beef from Sommers farm, but at $10 a pound, it's a bit of a slurge.. It makes a tasty hamburger..

Tue, April 15, 2008 - 8:45 PMYah, I'm amazed to see that some store carry a product then i travel to a different state and they don't carry the same product. Such as.. The wonderfully tasty Cheese Foccacia buns which I found in Philly, but are nowhere to be found in the Midwest. =( -

Re: Moo..
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 2:56 AMOrganic meat may be misleading...check out the Omnivore's Dilemma if you haven't read it. The cows are still fed grains (not natural for a cow: they eat grass) and barely have access to pasture (only during the first part of their lives). If you can find grass-fed beef, it is more ethical and sustainable than "organic," and although it may not be guaranteed to be hormone/antibiotic free there is less use for medication when your cattle are living a healthy, natural lifestyle on the pasture.
Just my two cents on the beef topic!
