Re: fage greek yogurt = tj house brand?
Sun, May 18, 2008 - 5:13 PMI think fig yogurt is a yes or a no thing and even as a yes it's an unusual yogurt taste for those raised on sweeter and lighter flavors.
I wasn't sure at first, but it really grew on me and I wanted nothing but. I find it earthy and musky.
Greek Gods also makes a fig that I prefer now over TJ's (it's at Whole Foods). I also recommend TJ's Mediterranean Yogurt as an alternative to sour cream.

Sun, May 18, 2008 - 11:16 PMI truly love that Greek yogurt. The one in the smaller container with all the seeds, if I am thinking of the same one? oh - yummmm. -

Re: fage greek yogurt = tj house brand?
Fri, June 20, 2008 - 7:28 AMI like to mix the plain greek yogurt with the leftover bits from the bottom of the container of the snacking granola, drizzled with a bit of honey. Or, just scoop out some yogurt, drizzle with honey (I like to use my own honey instead of the honey flavored yogurt) and top with toasted almonds...makes a great dessert!
I also really like the fig flavor.

Re: fage greek yogurt = tj house brand?
Sun, July 27, 2008 - 9:37 PMAmber, I don't know if that particular thing is true but it is true that sometimes TJ's arranges to private label a brand they've previously carried under a brand name. This recently happened with Double Rainbow ice cream. The brand version is out of TJs and instead they have TJ's private label version. I can actually see where this would help Double Rainbow. Although it's a brand native to SF, you don't see Double Rainbow at most Safeways and local supermarkets. And why would they carry it when you could buy it at TJ's for at least a $1 less a half gallon? I think this probably took a bit out of business at some of the Double Rainbow ice cream parlors around here.
